Service Description

Hi, welcome to Pendle Pottery Studio, a ceramic studio in the heart of Pendle located in the village of Barrowford. In this workshop, which is perfect for both beginners and those returning to working with clay, you will have the opportunity to create a delightful leaf shaped trinket dish. This workshop is a chance to take time out for yourself, do something fun, learn a new skill, and connect with your creativity. These dishes make great snack bowls, candle holders and are very useful for many different things as a trinket dish, you can even add a hole to create an incense burner. In the workshop you can choose to use a whole sycamore leaf or a variety of foraged leaves & wild flowers for your pieces. Using slabs and formers you will be expertly guided and supported to create a piece of pottery you can be really proud of. At the end of the session you can choose your own choice of glaze colours and your items will be glazed for you ready for collection a later date. The studio is run by professional ceramic artist Stella Boothman (BA Hons 1st Class) who trained as a fine artist and now specialises in ceramic work making both functional and sculptural pieces from her studio. Pendle Pottery Studio is fully equipped with a fabulous range of tools, materials and equipment, everything you will need to create beautiful and unique creations from clay. Stella is an experienced teacher, who will guide you through each stage of the process of constructing your piece. These classes are suitable for complete beginners through to more experienced potters and aim to ensure that you will have a fun, creative and enjoyable experience whilst you are with us and make the most of your time in the studio. This course includes all raw materials, tuition and two kiln firings that are required to finish your piece.
