Service Description
This 2.5 hour taster session is ideal for absolute beginners and the perfect way to get a taste of the techniques involved in making pottery on a potters wheel. Suitable for people aged 16+, the studio is fully equipped with six potters wheels ensuring every person attending the session gets plenty of time on the wheel, and there is a plentiful supply of stoneware clay available. You will watch demonstrations and be given hands on support from our expert tutor who will guide you through the different stages of creating a pot on the wheel. You will be shown how to centre and open out the clay, how to create a wall to make a vessel and how to finish your piece so that it can be dried and fired in the kiln. At the end of the session you choose a couple of pots from the ones you have made, and the studio will fire and glaze these in your chosen colour for you to collect later. The price includes all materials and firing. This session is a fun and enjoyable way to experience working on a potters wheel, and if you want to continue to build skills after your taster session you can explore our more in depth, six week , potters wheel courses at the studio. The session takes place in our dedicated pottery studio at Higherford Mill in Barrowford, Lancashire, BB96JH.

Cancellation Policy
All bookings made via this website or in person include a 20% non-refundable deposit*. We are only a small studio and cancellations impact on both our ability to ensure courses are viable and our ability to fill cancelled spaces at short notice. Cancellation of any place on a workshop must be made in writing by email to pendlepotterystudio@gmail.com. You must give a minimum of 14 full days notice before the start date of your workshop to be eligible for any credit or refund . A credit will be offered to use towards another workshop or if this is not an option a refund will be given less any deposit. Cancellations not made in writing and/or given with less than 14 full days notice are non-refundable. * If a workshop session is cancelled by the studio then you will be notified as soon as possible, usually by email. You will be offered either an alternative date for the same workshop or a credit for an alternative workshop or a refund. ** Occasionally we have waiting lists for courses, should we be able to fill your place from our wait list then we will refund all of the money you initially paid and you will not lose your deposit.
